Corn hybrids differ considerably in yield potential, standability, maturity, and other agronomic characteristics that affect profitable crop production. The Ohio Organic Corn Performance Test (OOCPT) evaluates certified organic corn hybrids for grain yield and other important agronomic characteristics.The tests were conducted on certified organic fields at Apple Creek (West Badger Farm) and Wooster (Fry Farm) in Wayne County and were intensively managed for nutrients and weed control using organic practices.

We are pleased to announce that Brian Gwin has agreed to coordinate and lead the CFAES efforts that are focused on organic agriculture systems, the Organic Food and Farming Education and Research (OFFER) Program. Brian currently works on special projects for the Director of the Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station and has previously served as a program and portfolio manager as well as stakeholder manager for the Agroecosystem Management Program. He has a wealth of experience in economic development connected with agriculture, and he frequently helps out on his family farm. Read more.
